2003 CANDIDATE BIOGRAPHIES
(reprint of the 2001 document)

Mark Cyr
25 Addy Road
I am honored to be running for the Board of Middlesex Beach Association. Here is an introductory paragraph about myself: Mark Cyr is a Minister in the Episcopal Diocese of New York. He is currently the Information Technology Manager for the Diocese after serving as rector for a parish for over ten years. His interest in computers led him to help found the Warwick Valley PC User Group, of which he was an active Board member for five years. His wife Margie is a native Delmarvian who introduced Mark to the Eastern Shore about ten years ago and they have enjoyed vacationing here ever since. They have been residents of 25 Addy Road since the Fall of 1997.
Jay Foreman
11 Dune Road
We've been coming to the Bethany Beach area from our home in Chevy Chase, MD for some twenty-five years, but only purchased our home in Middlesex Beach three years ago, shortly after I retired. Though my wife continues to work as a consumer advocate, we manage to spend most of July and August in Middlesex, plus about half of the weekends in non-winter months. I'm originally from Los Angeles, but have lived in the Metropolitan Washington area since graduating from law school. I've served for several years on the Boards of non-profit organizations, including United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, the U.S. Committee for UNICEF and IRSA, the Immigration and Refugee Services of America. I now serve on the Board of the Bayside Tennis Club. I've accepted this nomination because I am committed to preserving and improving the ambiance, the quality of life, and the attractiveness that drew us to Middlesex Beach.

15 Dune Road
I was born, raised and still live in Bethesda, MD, and have been a Middlesex Beach homeowner since purchasing 15 Dune Road with my parents in 1991. We vacationed in Middlesex Beach since the early 1980's, and the Bethany area since the early 1960's. A Civil Engineering Graduate of the University of Maryland, I worked as Patent Examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office for over 15 years. I left the USPTO in 1997 to start my own computer/telecommunications consulting business.
Starting with the great January storm of 1992, I began periodically photographing the beach from the Addy Road walkway. I was never sure what to do with the pictures until the Internet was developed and I made Web pages out of them. This eventually led me to develop the "Unofficial Middlesex Beach Website" (http://www.dawnet.comlmba), by which I have attempted to pass along information pertinent to homeowners.
Our family house is rented most of the summer, but I spend several weekends a month enjoying the seclusion of Middlesex Beach in the offseason. My only experience with organizations in Middlesex Beach is sitting in the back row of the Annual Meeting since becoming a member of the community, but I am eager to help preserve our wonderful community in whatever way I can, and help to make sure that the other members are kept informed of what is being done on their behalf by the Board.
