In a lifeguard competition held on the sands of Middlesex on August 13, 2003, a team composed entirely of active members of our Middlesex Beach Patrol placed an impressive second place overall.
A team representing the much larger Rehoboth Beach Patrol were the winners; also competing were teams from South Bethany, Sea Colony, Bethany and Delaware State Park.
Results of some of the events: Middlesex placed 1st in the 'Landline', 1st in the 200 yard swim relay, 2nd
in the Ironman Medley and 3rd in the 'paddle relay'.
