Hanna Weather Update -
Sunday morning summary: on Saturday we had a little bit of rain, steady but not overwhelming wind, and some large waves. Nothing earth shattering, or even property damaging. What we had could best be described as "weather". Not a "storm", just "weather". My front porch webcam in Bethesda tells me it was far worse in the DC area. Normal waves today-lifeguards on duty (yellow flag-rip currents); beach looks fine; sun is out; only a light breeze. Saturday 4PM: Tide on its way out. Wind definitely from due S. More rain. Peak wind gust was at Bethany Boardwalk was 35mph at 3:40P. 3PM: ocean has joined the tide pool. Wind still from SE. Not much rain. Peak wind gusts at 30mph. 1PM: Slightly heavier rain (at times); slightly bigger waves. Wind from ESE, and strongest right at the lip of the 4' high cliff; fairly calm in tide pool depression. 11AM: Wind gusts in low 20mph range, still from SE. Ocean is definitely kicking up, but still staying where it belongs. Light drizzle. 9AM: breeze from the SE. Some rain overnight, but nothing within last several hours. Quite warm and overcast; the sun was out within the last half an hour. Streets are dry. Very heavy rain reported elsewhere on the Delmarva Peninsula. STORM CLEANUP -
All 4 branches that fell during Saturday's weather have been picked up and stuffed in the President's trash cans.
There is NO need for a community-wide brush pickup. ALL DEBRIS MUST BE PLACED IN YOUR TRASH CAN FOR REGULAR PICKUP BY ALLIED WASTE. If you choose to place a pile of brush on MBA property, you can expect to receive a bill for its disposal. Please take an extra 30 seconds to put the pile of brush in your trash can. |
5/3/08 Community Meeting Seaside Village Dumpsters The Board and CPR Property Management have been working with DNREC's Division of Air and Waste Management to evaluate the management of the Seaside Village dumpsters-specifically, the issue of odors. DNREC conducted 2 inspections in July, and CPR has had several phone calls with Cpl. Moyer of the Environmental Crimes Unit’s enforcement officer. According to the DNREC officer: If you want to pursue this issue further, you may contact DNREC at: 1-800-662-8802. |
The tide pool returns as the summer season ends in MxB... New (reduced) building permit fees in effect 9/1/08: no permit fee. $10,000 and $20,000: $200. over $20,000: $200, plus 1/2% of project cost.
Sussex Tree has finished clearing all piles of brush from the entire community. We're back on the standard "put all your trash in your trash cans, or expect to pay to have it removed" policy which is detailed in the mailing that went out to the entire community in mid-April. |
| Middlesex Beach is on the lower Delaware coast of the Atlantic Ocean near Bethany Beach. It is located just north of South Bethany, and south of Sea Colony. The short business strip along DE 1 (Long&Foster, McDonald's, South Bethany Seafood, China Express, Shore Stop, Resort Quest etc.) is in our community. |
