  • Bethany Beach Police Department - “How not to be a Victim” Seminar
On Saturday, February 4th 2012 at 1 PM, the Bethany Beach Police Department will be hosting a “How not to be a Victim” seminar to reduce the property crimes targeted in the Town of Bethany Beach and its surrounding neighborhoods. It will be located at the South Coastal Library located on Kent Ave in Bethany Beach. The seminar will stress the importance of securing your residences, vehicles, personal belongings and keeping a watchful eye for suspicious vehicles and or persons. Within the past year, people in the Town of Bethany Beach and neighboring towns have fallen victim to property crimes including burglaries, thefts from motor vehicles and theft of personal belongings that were in plain view and unsecured. No-one wants to ever think that they might become a victim of a crime, but, denying the possibility may sometimes put you at greater risk. In order to be safe, you have to prepare and prevent. Preparation and prevention is key! It is more effective and desirable to prevent a problem from occurring, than having to deal with it once it does.

Come learn a few helpful ideas and tips to secure your residence and personal belongings so they will not be targeted by any criminal activity. Questions, comments, or concerns can be directed to Cpl Patrick Foley of the Bethany Beach Police Department. He may be reached at 302-539-1000.
