The standing water is both unsightly and unsanitary. Open drainage ditches in residential areas are outdated and unacceptable. The problem can be corrected with a combination of pre-cast drain boxes, 1" stone and perforated plastic drain pipe. 
The existing ditches need to be cleaned, a stone bed laid, then the pipe and drain boxes, and stone fillto 8" below drainage elevation. Top soil and grass will be installed on the top as cover. Surface water from the paved road would flow onto the grass and into the storm drains where it would be unseen and absorbed into the sub-soil or by gravity flow west to the state maintained ditches. |
