Herman
Purchased in May 2004 for about $8000, the MBA's 2 WD Polaris Ranger almost paid for itself during its first year.
Bids received to install dune fencing that year were close to $10,000,
and the eventual cost to do the project by community volunteers and contractors was less than half that.
"Herman", as he was dubbed (I do not know why, except I have some ancestors named Herman),
was used to bring the materials close to the job site.
One year later, obviously thinking MBA was onto something, the Town of South Bethany purchased their own Polaris Ranger (6 wheel drive).
The Town of Bethany Beach now has at least two.
It's nice to be a trend setter.
