CONSTRUCTION IN MIDDLESEX BEACH Fees effective for all construction after Labor Day 2009: No Construction Permit is necessary for any work under $5,000However, if the project is expected to cause loud noise, truck traffic, unsightliness or other disturbance to neighbors, such as cutting of trees or remodeling any part of an existing dwelling including replacement of roof shingles, The Building Committee must be notified, either by calling Right Property Management at 302-727-7000 or by filling out this online form. Any work which is less than $10,000 - no fee for a permit Commercial: any NEW construction: permit fee $2000 Any renovation that costs $10,000 or more: permit fee $1000 (But a Permit IS required for work between $5,000 - $10,000) All work between $10,000-$20,000 - $200 Permit fee. All work above $20,000 - the Permit fee is $200 plus additional 1/2% of total project cost to a MAXIMUM of $1000 (reached when a projects hits $180,000) Please note that any work which is started without a valid Middlesex Building permit will result in fines of $100 per day. For all projects over $10,000, the Property Owner must submit a construction bond of 5% of estimated construction cost along with all of the application documents.
